This book features over 100 female images of different various artists as well as pixiv artists lending their creative skills and comments to this book. This book is split up into 2 sections: Illustrations and Concept Art. There is even a section dedicated to our favorite Vocaloid character Miku Hatsume.

Pixiv Nenkan 2009 Official Book is a kind of a "best of" book of artists from the Pixiv community, though I should note not very comprehensive. It does contain a few artists we have seen before, but has notable exceptions like tearfish. Therefore, I find this book useful as a way of physically flipping through a catalogue of artists and picking those which I should follow. In keeping with the sheer scale of the Pixiv site (both in terms of artists and art), and following the tradition of Pixiv books (such as Pixiv Girls Collection), Pixiv Nenkan 2009 Official Book is massive: 256 pages, for 2940 yen (close to the price of a normal artbook). Compare the page count to the 144 pages of Lily White!

I guess one could say Pixiv Nenkan 2009 isn't really an artbook in the traditional sense anyway. Like I said, it's a catalogue, and the cover and cover jacket say as much.
